Frequently Asked Questions

Some of my most frequently asked questions

My harp is a Lyon & Healy Style 23 concert grand pedal harp. It is made by the premier harp manufacturer in the U.S.A, Lyon & Healy Harps, based in Chicago. It is made of maple, sitka spruce, and a double rosewood inlay. It is intricately hand carved by craftsmen and took over 6 months to make. It stands at over 6 feet tall, is 81 pounds, and has 47 strings. It is a beautiful natural blonde color and has a rich, warm sound-- the perfect harp to make a stunning visual statement at your event!

What kind of harp do you have?

Yes, I often perform outdoors! For the safety of my instrument, there must be a solid, flat surface for me to put my instrument on and there must be shade at all times.

If there is no natural shade available, I require a large patio umbrella that can completely cover me and my harp.

Do you play outdoors?

Yes, my harp can be amplified! I have a pickup installed at the base of my harp so I can easily plug it into an amp or speaker for additional volume. Please contact me and let me know if you would like me to play acoustically or use amplification at your event. For the best experience, I generally recommend using amplification at most events, due to the harp's quiet and gentle nature. This way all of your guests can equally enjoy being serenaded by the harp!

Can your harp be amplified?

Can you match the style
and color scheme of my event?

Yes! I have a wide range of dresses + gowns available, and I am more than happy to dress accordingly.

The most common color requests I receive are:

Dusty rose/pink, champagne/cream, black, pastel blue, navy, + red.

If you have a particular style and color scheme that is outside of my normal range of color and style options, for an additional fee, I am happy to rent or purchase something to match. Please contact me to discuss and please provide plenty of time before the event date.

Yes! I have a variety of talented + professional colleagues that I often work with to provide exactly what you're looking for. Aside from solo harp events, the most common requests I receive are for:

• harp + violin duo

• harp + cello duo

• harp, violin, + cello duo

• two harp duo

If you are looking for something unique that is outside of the options listed above, I am happy to work with you to curate the ensemble and

realize the vision you have!

Do you play with other musicians?

How do I choose music?

This is a great question! This is the part that can be overwhelming or daunting to a lot of people. Don't worry! I'm here to help. I would start out by simply thinking about what kind of mood or vibe you are going for. Do you want it to sound peaceful, gentle, and relaxing? Or are you looking for something more upbeat and lively? Think about what kind of genre(s) you want to include in your event. Do you have any favorite artists or songs you enjoy that you would like to hear on the harp?

The most common genres + styles I get requests for are:

Classical/Traditional

Examples: Pachelbel's Canon in D, Wedding March, Ave Maria,

Flower Duet from Lakmé, Can't Help Falling In Love

• Pop

Examples: Love Story + Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, All of Me by John Legend

Hip-hop + R&B

Examples: Best Part by H.E.R. + Daniel Caesar, At Last by Etta James,

Still D.R.E. by Dr. Dre

Jazz

Examples: Moon River by Henry Mancini, Fly Me to the Moon by Frank Sinatra

Religious

Examples: Amazing Grace, The Prayer, Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring

Remember, it's all up to you! There is no "right" or "wrong." It's just about

working together to figure out what music will make your event flow.

If you don't wan't to choose particular songs, that's totally fine, too. Just talk to me about what you're looking for and give me some general vibes, moods, or genre(s) to work with, and I'm happy to create a set list on my own so you don't have to worry about another to-do during wedding planning!

Do you do special requests?

Yes! I provide 3 complimentary special request songs included with my Ceremony Only wedding Package. If you choose to book my Ceremony + Cocktail Hour package, I include 5 special request songs. For an additional fee, I am happy to provide more special requests, conditional to their ability to be arranged + played on the harp. Let's connect and talk about how to make your dream harp

set list a reality!
